CITY BLITZ is a peer facilitation program for sharing best practices and innovating new solutions that can fast-track municipal sustainability throughout Los Angeles County. We are developing a prototype initiative that grows out of the model of sustainability developed by the City of Claremont.
CITY BLITZ is about education, innovation, consultation and connection:
· Peer education in best practices, with supporting resources. Including on-location visits and discussions with key experts.
· Innovation workshops for tailoring best practices to the needs of an individual municipality. Includes day-long innovation blitz opportunities facilitated by John Bielenberg, founder of the Silicon Valley firm Future Partners.
· Consultation services with a local network of the most experienced consultants who can be called on for specialty advice.
· Connection with a network of peers developing their own sustainability models.
The CITY BLITZ prototype assumes two days on location: one in Claremont (for sharing best practices) and one in either Claremont or in a participating municipality (for the innovation workshop), with follow-up consultation and connection. We will further refine CITY BLITZ based on what we learn from the prototype period.
CITY BLITZ is a collaboration with Sustainable Claremont, CHERP (Community Home Energy Retrofit Project), and the City of Carson.
